ThanksYou probably know this: To get more clients, it’s critical to come across as an expert who solves problems easily and who’s totally familiar with problems of your target market.

Traditionally you’re advised to demonstrate your expertise by sharing knowledge, through videos, blog posts, articles and other forms of content.

So you spend many hours creating content and you’ve still got a credibility gap.

What’s going on?

The truth is, research has shown that you become credible through your communication style as well as your content.   Two people can present the same message. One gets high marks for credibility. The other … well, let’s say some eyebrows get raised.

One component of credibility is confidence. When you’re confident, you’re seen as more credible. That’s how con artists get rich.

You’re not a con artist (I hope) but unfortunately the same psychological principle holds when you share valuable knowledge. To be perceived as presenting accurate, valuable info, you have to be seen as confident. So being confident will be critical when you really want to share your expertise with people who need what you have. Otherwise they’ll go to someone who’s just more confident.

Most people don’t talk about these principles.  Often the top gurus and guides do these things naturally. That’s why they come across as owning their market … and they do. Therefore they don’t look for these signals when they work with clients; in fact, they are often puzzled when their clients create a ton of valuable content without attracting prospects.

This video goes behind the scenes to tell you how to make a few surprising style modifications that will help you use your message to get more clients to grow your business.
